Alot Has Changed

Wow, it has been a long time since I blogged last. Where do I begin? Our family has been busy over the last few months. Larry & I begain our fertility journey once again in August of 2009, in hopes to give Riley a sibbling. From the very beginning Larry and I knew we wanted a large family we just didn't know the obstacles it would take to get there. We did one round of IUI in mid August only to find out that it didn't work. We were devastated. By this time our appointment finally arrived to meet with our fertility doctor in Kansas City.

We left KC feeling positive that they could help us grow our family. As the months went on things in our life kept changing. In November my father, Wade Pearce, closed our family grocery store after running it for the last 25 years. It was one of the hardest thing our family has ever had to do. The store closed it's doors for the last time with family & friends gathered around to watch my dad turn off the "OPEN" sign for the last time. To some this sounds like no big deal, but to a community where this store had been established for the last 100 years it was a huge void in the hearts of many. Dad chose to close the store because of his declining health.

After, the closing of the store and Thanksgiving our family finally felt a little peace, but we knew there was still something missing. On December 11, 2009 we had our 2nd round of IUI and it successfully took and on Christmas Eve we found out we were expecting another baby. It was a true Christmas miracle for us!

January came bringging us lots of snow and cold weather. Feburary came and the ground hog saw his shadow. So, another 6 weeks of winter. NOW, it's finally March! I love Spring. The flowers all bloom, the sweet smell of morning dew and the sound of children playing outside. It's magical and so inspiring. I have recently decided to take a chance and try out (I guess you would say) for a local design team. Nikki Sivils, a scrapbook designer, is searching for locals to be on her newTownhouse Divas design team. I've never done anything like this but I think it would be a ton of fun! So, stay tuned...

Grandma & Riley

Here we are Monday morning trying to catch up on all the things I got behind on this past weekend. Laundry, unload dishwasher, clean tub, vacum, mow the lawn... It's never ending! We had a wonderful time at the National Captain Daniel Little Family Reunion. There were so many people I had no idea how we were related. There were 200 people in a ballroom trying to talk if you can imagine that. Insane I know. It was so good to see as well as meet family I had never met before. For a lot of them it was the first time to meet me and Riley both! Grandma Pearce had a wonderful time and got to see her sister Norma, from California. It has been 6 years since they last saw each other. It was truly amazing! Today, I'm going to work on the quilt for my bed and play outside with Riley before it gets too hot. lol. Well, I hope you all had a great weekend.

Happy Friday!

Hey, guys!

I'm so happy it's Friday. We have a busy weekend ahead of us with a birthday party and a family reunion. Riley is going to get to meet his great, great, great Aunt for the first time. She lives in Cali and isn't able to travel much, so we're all so excited to see her.

I'm still working on the quilt for my bed. I'm half way with the rows. Hopefully, I can work on it some Sunday. Well, I hope everyone enjoys this beautiful weather! Be back soon!

Inspired

I started this blog a while back and then life happened and well it just got thrown to the back burner until today. I'm going to start blogging again. Yeah!!!

I've been really inspired by a sweet girl named Rachel Denbow. She lives in the Springfield area and is one mama who knows how to create beautiful pieces of inspiration. Her baby quilts are so lovely. So simple but yet elegant. I've not had the chance to meet in her person, but hopefully one of these days I will be lucky enough. Go and check out her blog http://www.blingonmysewingmachine.blogspot.com/.

I'm busy working on a quilt kit that Larry bought me for my birthday. I can't wait until it's done and then I can finally give our bedroom that makeover she's been deserving. I'll post some pictures later this week of it. Riley feel asleep in the playroom. All this talk about crafts made him sleepy! lol.
